The Product Manager will lead the development, execution, and maintenance of new and existing product lines from concept through obsolescence. This position will provide key input and direction to ensure that the product meets financial and corporate growth objectives, coordinate design control activities, branding, and surgical technique development. The Product Manager will be a member of a cross-functional team that includes engineering, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, and medical education.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the marketing development effort to bring new products from concept to commercialization.
  • Maintain a high level of product category knowledge through staying current in published information, regional market, contacts, surgeon interaction, and industry educational meetings.
  • Work across multiple internal and external groups such as design, packaging and labeling, regulatory claims, surgical technique generation, advertising, sales force education, etc.
  • Own major brands and/or sub-segment of the portfolio.
  • Responsible for cultivating strategy at the brand and/or sub-segment level.
  • Acquires product information through market research and regional input to assure projects meet the needs of the intended markets.
  • Project planning including close monitoring of critical path items and ensuring on-time product launches.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to other departments in support of product development.
  • Monitor and document required product feedback and performance.
  • Develop business plans, including financial analyses, budgets, product strategy, and product life-cycle.
  • Work directly with clinicians and cultivate strong customer relationships to build a strong company reputation.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with external customers and suppliers.

        Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education or Medical related field
  • 5+ years total of dynamic business experience in marketing, R&D, product development, or a combination of experience in these functions.
  • 5+ years of experience working in medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical or other regulated industry
  • Demonstrated track record of leading product launches medical devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams of people that are not direct reports.
  • Ability to multi-task a variety of responsibilities, functions under deadlines/time constraints and pressures, and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to process and track a high volume of information and assignments.
  • Follow-through skills and strong attention to detail a must.
  • Knowledge of Orthopedic (spine) implant/ medical device surgery
  • MBA or other master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical device sales and commercial marketing is preferred.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships with HCPs and field sales reps.
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems with creativity while aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Capability to travel within the U.S.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
