Role and Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant supports the Controller with daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records. This role involves a variety of accounting duties including account reconciliations, payroll processing, financial reporting, and assisting with audits.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Controller with daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks.
  • Monitor daily financial functions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and billing as needed.
  • Reconcile bank statements monthly.
  • Perform weekly payroll and execute related data entry into the ERP system.
  • Calculate monthly commissions reports and submit to accounts payable for processing.
  • Maintain accurate distributor commission matrix and up-to-date distributor contracts to ensure accurate commission calculation.
  • Execute weekly reporting to ownership and the executive team.
  • Update and complete reporting for the weekly production meeting and distribute reports to the production team.
  • Reconcile the receiving accrual account daily and assist the Controller with month-end reconciliation.
  • Produce intercompany invoices monthly and retain support electronically.
  • Assist customers, vendors, distributors, and employees with questions as needed.
  • Support the Controller and CFO with projects, tasks, or reporting as needed.

        Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis or major in Accounting.
  • Experience in assisting the Controller with monthly close and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in General Ledger activities including account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and variance analysis.
  • Experience in supporting external audit processes.
  • Proficiency in payroll processing and analysis.
  • Strong ability to manage deadlines and be attentive to detail.
  • Must retain sensitive information confidentially.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
